Valkyrie Relay operates this website from the United States. This page explains in plain language what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. Questions and requests: info@valkyrierelay.com.
1. What we collect
If you sign up for email updates, we collect your email address and, if you choose them, the race locations you are interested in. We also record how the signup reached us (the page and any campaign tags on the link) so we know which efforts work. The site additionally records basic, aggregate visit statistics through the website platform’s built-in analytics, which uses no cookies and builds no individual profiles. We do not sell personal information, and we do not enroll you in marketing email without your separate, confirmed consent.
2. Email updates and double opt-in
Signup uses double opt-in: we send one confirmation email, and you are only subscribed once you click the button in it. Your subscription is stored with Loops (Loops.so), the service we use to send email. Unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email, or ask us to delete your data at info@valkyrierelay.com.
3. How signups are processed
Form submissions are received by a small service we run on Cloudflare, which validates them and passes them to Loops. Cloudflare processes the information you submit, and it temporarily processes your IP address for security and rate limiting; rate-limit records exist only for their short configured security window. To prevent duplicate submissions and to remember your analytics choice for the confirmation step, the service stores technical references built from non-email, hashed identifiers for no longer than their configured retention periods (up to 90 days) - your email address is not stored in those records. Cloudflare’s infrastructure may also process ordinary connection information under Cloudflare’s own service practices.
4. Sponsor inquiries
If you send a sponsor inquiry from our sponsors page, we collect your business or organization name, a contact name, your email address, and your message, plus any optional details you choose to add: website, where you are based, the kinds of partnership and sports that interest you, a budget range, and prior sponsorship experience. We use this information only to evaluate and respond to your partnership inquiry. It is processed by the same Cloudflare service described above and stored there for no longer than 24 months, and deleted earlier on a valid request to info@valkyrierelay.com. Loops is used solely to send Valkyrie an internal notification that an inquiry arrived; sponsor applicants are not added to any marketing audience or mailing list. No submitted form values are sent to Google Analytics, and form contents and email addresses are not written to application logs.
5. Cookies, browser storage and your consent choice
After you make a consent choice in the cookie banner, the site saves a small browser-storage item called vlk_consent_v1 so it can remember your selection and its date. Before analytics consent is granted, Google Analytics does not load and no Google Analytics cookies are created. If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics loads and creates cookies beginning with _ga. If you do nothing, or choose Reject non-essential, Google Analytics never loads. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookie settings control in the corner of any page; withdrawing stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies for this site from your browser.
6. Analytics and advertising settings
We use Google Analytics 4, only after you allow it, to understand how the site is used. We do not currently use advertising cookies or enable Google advertising features. Google advertising consent settings remain denied, Google Signals is disabled, advertising personalization is disabled, and advertising identifiers are redacted. We do not send Google Analytics your name, email address, Loops contact ID or other directly identifying information. Google Analytics uses a randomly generated technical client identifier for measurement. If you granted analytics consent and later confirm an email subscription, we send one newsletter_signup_confirmed event containing only the approved form/source information and that technical identifier. If analytics consent was denied or never granted, this event is not sent.
7. How long we keep things
Your consent choice: in your browser until you clear or change it. Cloudflare rate-limit records: only for their short configured security window. Cloudflare deduplication and consent-processing references: up to 90 days. Sponsor inquiries: up to 24 months, deleted earlier on a valid request. Your Loops email subscription: until you unsubscribe or make a verified deletion request. Google Analytics event and user-level data: 14 months; standard aggregated reporting may remain available under Google’s service settings.
8. Your choices
Unsubscribe from email at any time; withdraw analytics consent at any time; and ask us to correct or delete anything you have submitted by emailing info@valkyrierelay.com - we will act as quickly as we reasonably can.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards through the services we rely on, but no website or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact info@valkyrierelay.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If our practices change - for example, when new forms or tools launch - we will update this page and the effective date.
