Conditions of entry
VALKYRIE RELAY - REGISTRATION TERMS
1. WHAT YOU PAY
The price shown for an entry is the total price. Valkyrie pays the registration platform's participant service fee itself. No service fee, processing fee, surcharge or other charge is added at checkout or afterwards, and the amount you are quoted when you begin registration is the amount you are charged.
The only additional amounts that can ever apply are the optional service fees listed in section 9, and those apply only if you ask for that service.
Entry fees are non-refundable except as stated in these terms. Registration is personal to the registered participant and to the registered team.
2. SUBSTITUTIONS
A team may substitute one person for another at no charge and without limit, up to and including packet pickup. Every substitute must complete registration and accept the Participant Agreement, Assumption of Risk and Release before starting, and a substitute who is under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the guardian section and must meet the Minor Participation and Supervision Rule, including having a Responsible Adult present. A substitution made after the roster deadline in section 3 may not appear in published results or on pre-printed materials. Substituting the participant who holds the paid entry is a transfer under section 4, not a substitution under this section.
3. TEAM NAME AND ROSTER CHANGES
A team may change its name, add or remove roster members, and change leg assignments at no charge until the roster deadline of Friday, August 27, 2027. After that date the roster is locked for timing, bib production and results, and changes are handled as substitutions under section 2.
4. TRANSFERS
Transferring a paid entry to another person. A participant holding a paid entry may transfer it to another person until Wednesday, September 15, 2027 for a $25 transfer fee. A teammate entry carrying no charge may be transferred at no cost. Transfers are not available after that date.
Changing to a different category. A participant or team may move to a different race category until Wednesday, September 15, 2027 for a $25 transfer fee, subject to space being available in the receiving category. Where the receiving category costs more, the difference is payable at the time of the change. Where it costs less, the difference is not refunded.
5. PARTICIPANT WITHDRAWAL
A participant or team that withdraws receives a deferral credit for the full amount paid, valid for the next edition of the Event, provided written notice is received by Tuesday, July 20, 2027. After that cutoff no credit is issued, because costs commit at that point. Cash refunds are not provided on withdrawal.
6. DEFERRAL CREDIT
A deferral credit is issued for the full amount paid, is valid for the next edition of the Event, may be transferred once to another participant or team, and expires if not used for that edition. A deferral credit has no cash value and is not redeemable for cash.
7. IF VALKYRIE CANCELS
If Valkyrie modifies, shortens, postpones or cancels the Event, entry fees are non-refundable. Valkyrie will give notice as early as it reasonably can and will state the reason in writing.
(a) Where the cancellation is Valkyrie's own election, including cancellation for insufficient registration, every affected participant is entitled to a full deferral credit to the next edition at no charge, automatically and without application.
(b) Where the Event is cancelled or curtailed because of conditions, an act of government, or a decision by a land manager, permitting authority or public-safety agency, Valkyrie will provide a full deferral credit where it is reasonably able to do so, and will state in writing what it is able to offer and why.
In either case Valkyrie is not liable for travel, accommodation, equipment, time off work or any other cost or loss a participant incurs.
8. PAYMENT PLANS
Where a payment plan is selected, the participant authorizes each scheduled instalment on its scheduled date. The entry is not complete until all instalments have cleared. No fee is charged for using a payment plan.
(a) A failed instalment will be retried. Valkyrie will notify the participant at the email on the registration.
(b) If an instalment remains unpaid 14 days after its scheduled date, the entry may be suspended, and the participant may not start the Event while suspended.
(c) If an instalment remains unpaid 30 days after its scheduled date, or remains unpaid at the final instalment date, whichever is earlier, the entry may be cancelled. Amounts already paid are converted to a deferral credit under section 6, less a $25 administrative fee. Amounts already paid are not refunded in cash.
(d) A participant may pay the outstanding balance in full at any time to bring the entry current.
(e) Payment plans are available only during the published availability window of January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027. All instalments run on fixed calendar dates regardless of purchase date.
9. FEE SCHEDULE
These are the only fees Valkyrie charges beyond the advertised entry price, and each applies only where the participant requests that service:
No other fee is charged. Valkyrie does not add a service fee, processing fee or surcharge at checkout.
10. CHARGEBACKS
A participant who initiates a chargeback rather than using the processes above may have their entry cancelled and may be excluded from future editions.
11. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
The terms in force when a participant registers govern that registration. Valkyrie may change these terms for future registrations. A participant who has already registered is not bound by a later change that reduces what these terms give them.
12. GOVERNING LAW
Colorado law governs. Exclusive venue is the state courts of La Plata County, Colorado, or the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
Entry fees are payments for event participation. They are not charitable contributions and are not tax-deductible.
All deadlines above are anchored to a race date of Saturday, September 18, 2027. If the race date changes, Valkyrie will publish revised deadlines and notify registered participants at the email on their registration.
